2008 Weatherstone BBQ -
The second annual
WEATHERSTONE BBQ was
held on July 19th.  We had a
good turnout of neighbors.
JOE HALPIN, resident chef,
provided the great eats for all
the families!  The neighbors all
worked together to set up
shade tents to fight the heat-
which provided early comic
relief!  The MASON fire and
paramedic teams stopped by
for a blast of water fun for the
kids and some of the adults,
and actually stayed around to
chat up the neighbors, play
some corn hole and have
some dinner!  This year we
added face paining, temporary
tattoos, sudsy animal water
pool, and balloon animals for
the children!   The face
painters had some fantastic
designs!   FRIENDLY’S ice
cream sundaes, donated by
KEVIN & NONA PEYTON, were
a special treat! The evening
ended with an unexpected
Fireworks show!  We look
forward to keeping this a great
WEATHERSTONE
neighborhood tradition!  Look
for information in the coming
newsletters about how you can
get involved next year!
Dear Neighbor,

The Annual Meeting is fast
approaching. It will be held in
December. Once the date and
location are determined an official
notice will be issued. We are trying
to secure the Marival Clubhouse for
the meeting but the exact location
will be provided in a later mailing.

We have (5) seats up for election
based on term limits. We are looking
for at least five (5) volunteers to run
for those. There are a total of five
(5) homeowners on the Board and
their duties include, but are not
limited to, upholding the covenants
and restrictions, establishing the
annual budget/fees, and selecting
vendors for the maintenance of the
common grounds. Being on the
Board can be a very rewarding
experience, as we help build our
community. Board positions usually
require only minimal time
commitment.

If you are interested in running for
one of these seats please submit
your contact information and a brief
backround to:
Weatherstone HOA
PO Box 747 Mason, OH 45040

Email: aai@cinci.rr.com   no later
than November 12, 2008.  We will
be sending out a ballot with all
interested parties and a proxy prior
to the Annual Meeting so you can
vote if you are not able to attend.
Sign Reminder....

As we enter the political season,
please remember that yard
signs (other than real estate
signs) are not allowed in the
community. See the

Weatherstone Safety Tips
*Close garage doors when not in use.

* Arrange for Post Office to hold mail or for a
neighbor to pick up newspapers/mail/other
deliveries which would indicate no one is
home.

*Look after your neighbor's house when
they are away, and ask them to look after
yours. Leave contact information to reach
you if an emergency should arise.

* Have a street phone list to alert neighbors
if suspicious activity noticed.  A
Weatherstone Directory is being finalized
and will be available.

*Report any unusual or suspicious
behavior to the police. Write down
descriptions of the person(s) and license
number of any vehicles.  Remember -- Your
job it to report crime. The responsibility for
apprehending criminals belongs to the
police.

*Above all, be concerned. Spending a few
extra seconds watching strangers walking,
or driving through your neighborhood is
enough to prevent may crimes.

*Sign up for Mason Police Alerts through
Citizen Observer community policing alert
